Technicians and assignments
Track who is working on what. Assign a technician to each repair, then open the technician profile to see their workload.
Technicians in RepairNode are simple records — a name, a role, and optional contact details — that you can attach to a repair. Assignment is optional but makes the repair list, the dashboard, and reporting much more useful in shops with more than one person on the bench.
The technician list
Open Settings → Presets & Data → Technicians. Each card shows the technician's name, role, contact details, and how many repairs they currently have assigned. The Manager role is highlighted with a primary-color badge.
Adding a technician
- 1Tap the + in the technician list headerOr open an existing technician → Edit.
- 2Fill in the formName (required), role (Manager, Technician, Apprentice, etc.), phone, and email.
- 3SaveThe technician immediately becomes available in the assignment picker on the repair form.
Assigning a technician to a repair
Open the new-repair form (or edit an existing repair). Tap the Technician picker and pick a name from the list. The repair detail will:
- Show a technician badge in the tag wrap row on the list card.
- Show the technician name and a Technician tile in the action sheet that jumps straight to that profile.
- Surface the repair on the technician's profile (in their active or history list).
The technician profile
Tap a technician to open their profile. You will see:
- Avatar, name, role, and contact details.
- Tabs for Active repairs (open statuses) and History (everything ever assigned).
- Each tab paginates 20 repairs at a time so the screen stays fast even after years of work.
The default Manager record
Every fresh install starts with one technician named Manager. You can rename, edit, or delete it just like any other technician. We pre-create it so a single-person shop has someone to assign immediately, and so the assignment picker is never empty.
Privacy and storage
Technician phone numbers and emails are encrypted at rest in the local database, the same way customer contact details and device passcodes are. They are included in cloud backups but never sent anywhere else.
